This one has an ergonomic to fit the hand well. It is easy to change the blade and the only problem I have with it is that it is not easy to change to left handed use. I have tried several brands. I prefer my Olfa cutter over the others. The handle is comfortable and the cutting action is very smooth. Olfa blades are sharp and very good quality. Blade replacement is simple and intuitive and you can swap it to either the left or right side (I am left handed). I like the locking mechanism, it makes me feel a bit more safer with that satisfying click.With a Fiskars 18"x24" Self Healing Cutting Mat, I am able to trace around some basic patterns, but for detail work, the smaller diameter blade might be nicer. A large mat could be idea depending on how much space you have. Fiskars has a folding mat, which appeals to me, but I haven't tried it. I purchased this for less than the MRSP (yay!) and liked it enough that I obtained a pink one along with a pinking blade (fun!). Good luck with your research! *Edited to fix link. |
